Woman Aviator Dies In Crash
Julia Clark is only the 3rd woman in the world to receive a pilot’s license.
Clark was under engagement to fly is several exhibitions in the mid-west this summer although she has been flying a relatively short time. Two weeks ago she was prevented from flying because her plane was considered unsound.
On June 17, 1912 Clark was flying at an air show in Springfield, Illinois. It was foggy when the tip the wing on her plane hit a tree and she crash to the ground. Her skull was fractured and she died at the hospital. Ms. Clark is the 3rd woman to die in an airplane accident.
