RMS LUSITANIA Holds Lifeboat Drill In New York

On June 22, 1912 it was noted in the New York Times by Harry A Wilker of East Orange, New Jersey that while on the North River traveling on the 23rd Street Ferry he noticed that the Cunard Line liner RMS LUSITANIA was putting her men through safety exercises and that all her lifeboats were out on the river while the crew received instruction. Mr Wilker was pleased to see that Cunard was making an effort to avoid the confusion that had plagued the stricken White Star Line Liner RMS TITANIC should such an emergency situation arise on the RMS LUSITANIA.
