France And Russia Sign An Agreement

In August 1912 while on a diplomatic mission to Russia, French Prime Minister Raymond Poincare assured the Tsar and Russian foreign minister Sergei Sazonov that England had their back and France would back Russia.

On September 12, 1912 French Prime Minister Poincaré signed an agreement in Moscow with the Russian Empire which ratified the Franco-Russian Convention providing that if the German Empire mobilized its troops, France and Russia would do the same.
