“Rip Van Winkle” is a short story by the American author Washington Irving published in 1819. It is said to take place in the Catskill mountains in New York. As the area grew into a resort destination, many properties borrowed on the short story. Rip Van Winkle Park offered mountain cabins for vacationers.
