First Major Battles In The Balkan War

War broke out in the Balkans on October 17th.


On October 20, 1912 after infantries of the Balkan League crossed their borders into the western Ottoman Empire, the first major battles occurred when the Serbian Timok Infantry overcame the Turks at Egri Palanga, and the Bulgarian 2nd Infantry forced a retreat of the Ottoman 16th at Kocana. At Bilac, the Ottoman 19th Infantry was able to resist the invading Serbian Morava Infantry.
