Washington Statue Dedicated In New Jersey

In November 1783 following the departure of the British from New York at the close of the American Revolutionary War, General George Washington gave his “Farewell Address to the Army” in Rocky Hill, New Jersey.

On November 2, 1912 a statue by sculptor J Massey Rhind “George Washington Bids Farewell” was dedicated in Newark, New Jersey at Washington Park. The 8 foot statue portrays Washington dismounted from his horse as he makes his farewell address to the troops.
