Angus Peter MacDonall studied at the Saint Louis School of Fine Art and later settled in Westport, Connecticut, helping establish an artist’s colony there. MacDonall illustrated for most of the magazines including Scribner’s, Harper’s, American, and The Ladies Home Journal. MacDonall was especially popular with fellow illustrators because of his three beautiful daughters who were in great demand as models.
MacDonall’s cover for LIFE’s Valentine number is a couple on the telephone titled “Central”.
